FAQ

What is Microskin™?

Microskin™ is a simulated second skin technology that is formulated to colour correct the individual skin conditions. It is a light liquidised application which is applied on to the Corneum (top layer of skin). Microskin™ is not a cream or lotion. Once applied Microskin is durable, flexible, and it won’t rub off on clothing or linen. Microskin™ is waterproof, allows your skin to breathe and is suitable for men, women and children with all skin types.

Is Microskin™ Camouflage a makeup?

No, Microskin™ is a Simulated Second Skin. It does not wear like a creme or lotion based makeup.

How Long does Microskin™ last on my skin ?

It varies with different skin types (oily/dry) and on different parts of the body. Microskin can last up to two days on the face, as the natural oils will break the application down faster. On other parts of the body it will last up to seven days, and sometimes you can do a slight touch up to get a longer application. When applied to the hands the application will break down faster due to frequent washing of hands. Burns patients are able to get more wear out of their Microskin as they don’t have the sweat or oil glands to break it down.

Does wearing Microskin™ look like I have makeup on?

Depending on the skin condition that Microskin™ has been applied to, some people will achieve better results than others, this is due to texture of the skin, multiple layering and the high expectations of the client. Remember Microskin™ is not a cure, it is a visual colour correction of a skin disorder. We have found that clients view the success of Microskin™ differently to what the general public sees.

Does Microskin™ work on all skin colours?

Yes is does, Microskin™ has a colour that will match your skin tone. Download the free Microskin Colour Match App to find out which colour suits your skin tone.

Have there been any clinical trials or studies conducted on MIcroskin™?

Yes there have been numerous. Microskin™ partnered with Brisbane’s Royal Children’s Hospital and The University Of Queensland. The researchers from UQ’s Department of Psychiatry and the RCH Paediatrics Burns Centre uncovered exception results. Microskin™ has also had independent studies and trials conducted to determine its safety, durability and wearability.

Is Microskin™ safe?

To date there has been no reaction recorded to the Microskin™ formula.

Will Microskin™ Camouflage help cover my skin imperfections?

Microskin™ is used on conditions such as vitiligo, birthmarks, burns, scarring, psoriasis, rosacea, lupus, eczema, pigmentation and other related skin conditions. Microskin™ will only visually colour correct the skin condition, it will not alter the texture of the skin.

Where can I get Microskin™?

Microskin is only available through select clinics or direct via our online store. Take a look at at our Stockists page for your nearest Microskin™ consultant.

Can I have a spray tan before I have Microskin™ applied or while I am wearing Microskin™?

Microskin is colour corrected to your skin tone. When a spray tan is applied it places an artificial colour over your skin, this will cause our equipment that reads your skin tone colour to give us in incorrect reading that wont match you actual skin tone.

How is Microskin™ applied?

There are two techniques of applying Microskin. Stipple is the technique we will train you for smaller areas. With this method a specially designed stipple sponge is used. The pore like texture of the sponge allows the Microskin to be applied by a 3D application then it is slowly built up giving the Microskin a skin like texture.

Airbrushing is the technique used for larger areas. The airbrush allows the user to achieve a fine, even application which dries quickly with the use of the airbrush. A consultant will determine what procedure best caters for your condition.

What happens if i don’t have time to apply Microskin™ properly?

Microskin™ is not a quick fix, it takes time, dedication and you must make it a part of your day to day routine, to achieve the life changing experience Microskin™ can offer.

What is the recommended age to use Microskin™?

We recommend not using Microskin™ on infants up to 4 years old as their young skin may be sensitive to Microskin™. However Microskin™ is safe to use on all ages five years and over.

Is Microskin™ tested on animals?

No. We do not test Microskin™ on any animals.
